TRC Digital partners with Dominion Energy to evolve its distributed energy resource strategy

Dominion Energy, one of the nation’s largest producers and transporters of energy, has partnered with TRC Digital to evaluate, implement and integrate technology to further the utility’s distributed energy goals. TRC Digital will facilitate Dominion Energy’s strategy development and technology execution, allowing Dominion Energy and its customers to accelerate the shift to distributed energy resources (DER) and net carbon reduction.

In keeping up with changing customer demands and developing reliable distributed energy technologies, Dominion Energy is implementing measures to meet its commitment to net carbon zero and methane emissions by 2050. Part of this strategy is the development of a wide range of DER business offerings, including solar, storage, distributed generation and electric vehicle charging. Dominion Energy has chosen TRC to assess available technologies and identify those most beneficial for this corporate initiative. TRC’s deep knowledge of digital grid solutions and IT/OT integration will enable Dominion Energy to evaluate and deploy new technologies to ensure greater flexibility and utilization of assets, while delivering consistent, reliable energy to its customers.

The Team is supporting Dominion Energy with the evaluation of technology vendors, design and implementation of integrated DER offerings, and building Dominion Energy’s roadmap to best support its customers. This roadmap will provide Dominion Energy with an action plan for a short- and long-term rollout of its DER portfolio.
