CORE teams cover a wide range of focus areas that include vapor intrusion, advanced characterization and in-situ remediation, risk assessment, geotechnical engineering, chemical risk management and resiliency, and emerging contaminants.
Emerging Contaminants
TRC’s CORE teams provide site characterization, forensic, risk assessment and remediation services for emerging contaminants such as per- and poly-fluoroalkyl substances (PFAS); microplastics; 6-PPD-quinone; 1,4-Dioxane; perchlorate; 1,2,3-Tricholorpropane and nanoparticles.
Our PFAS team has conducted original R&D on absorption, leachability, analytical protocols and forensic assessment.

The CORE’s work has resulted in many patents for metals stabilization, in-situ remediation and non-aqueous phase liquid (NAPL) trapping and ebullition control in sediment.
