Best Practices, Technologies and Risk Reduction to Optimize Digitization

Though traditionally late adopters, most utilities today are evaluating, if not implementing, digital technologies. The goal is to carry out tasks more efficiently and effectively for challenges such as grid modernization, environmental concerns, regulatory changes, renewables and emergency management. Understanding the systems, technologies and applications available is complex for organizations of all sizes. TRC was contacted to conduct a benchmark initiative on planned construction work to meet their strategic goals and determine ideal methods and best practices for digitizing their processes. TRC identified four key takeaways and four best practices to consider as part of the digitization and automation of the long-cycle construction process.
